In 2026, the MET returned to the west side of Preston for the second year running, once again located at St Bernard’s Larches and Savick Community Hub. Returning to the Hub for a second year has demonstrated that our presence can have a greater and more lasting impact on the community than visiting an area just once.

Building on feedback from the previous year, we developed a programme that provided greater access and opportunities for young people, particularly as the MET was open for three weeks during the school holidays. These events proved very popular, with ideas generated by young people who took part in our focus groups.

Other highlights included the One Voice Community Choir and Soul Food Festival, which collected donations for food banks across Preston, a Bollywood night, and a Polish Day celebrating the communities of west Preston.

Emma Caffrey, Director of the Hub did another wonderful job, working in partnership with us and Preston City Council as the community facilitator. By working closely with the local community, we were able to programme 46 events over the 32 days the MET was open, attracting a total of 2,063 attendees.
