Routes in, Routes out

Gavin Renshaw in conversation with Jack Thurston

Location: Avenham Park Pavilion, Preston
Year: 2017

Gavin Renshaw invited cycling journalist and presenter of The Bike Show, Jack Thurston to discuss issues surrounding urban cycling, such as: How do we navigate a city and decipher the urban landscape by bike? How can we map a city and provide all the information cyclists need? What are the unique experiences cycling a city can give us?

The discussion, which included contributions from the audience was shaped by the experiences the pair had while cycling in Preston and its surrounds during the day of the event. It allowed them to reflect on their experiences of cycling both urban and rural areas of Lancashire, their shared interests in cycling infrastructure and ideas about using cycling to find routes in and out of a city.
