Torches in the Night was a 3-part radio intervention, taking place over the course of one working day in August 2013. At 9am, 12 noon and 5pm, three unannounced broadcasts of written works read aloud by local spoken word artists took place on Preston FM community radio.
The broadcasts blended fact and fiction to chart the course of over 100 years of revolutionary activism, within the context of a contemporary nine-to-five routine. Torches in the Night aimed to question our relationship with work and to celebrate the pursuit of social revolution.
