‘What do we need in a Space for Play?’ Emily Speed in conversation with Lee Ivett

As part of The Expanded City network, artist Emily Speed discussed ideas around spaces for place with architect Lee Ivett, in the recently Grade II listed ‘bubble’ classroom at Kennington Primary School in Preston. Emily explored ideas from her research with local community groups who share an interest in physicality and the body, and considered multi-use spaces and different approaches to leisure space.

As well as being the founding director of Baxendale Studio, Lee Ivett is also a studio tutor and lecturer at the Mackintosh School of Architecture, a director and co-producer of the Architecture Fringe, a co-producer of the annual Test Unit summer school and a board member of Baltic Street Adventure Playground.
