In Certain Places is a programme of public artworks, talks and events based in Preston, Lancashire, run in partnership between the Harris Museum & Art Gallery and the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).

Since 2003, In Certain Places have worked with regional and national artists to examine and reveal the physical and social specificities of Preston, including Jeppe Hein, John Newling, Shezad Dawood, Becky Shaw, Magda Stawarska-Beavan, Susan Walsh and Leo Fitzmaurice amongst others.

Issues of art, architecture and the public realm have also been explored through a number of talks and symposia, which have included presentations by Alfredo Jaar, Charles Jencks, Paul Gough and Loraine Leeson.
