Fletcher is an artist and curator working across the North West of the UK. Her art practice spans drawing, intervention, video and self-publishing. She is a co-founder and director of The Birley artist studios and project space in Preston city centre.
Her practice considers the smaller parts of bigger things: how we try and make sense of the roles or spaces we occupy within larger systems, structures and narratives.
Her work often explores social, political and environmental systems, and ways of thriving or failing within them.
In her curatorial practice Steph works with contemporary exhibition programmes, museum collections and archives – with a personal focus mainly on female and activist artists.
