Bonnie Craig is an artist and designer who works predominantly with pattern. Her practice explores the use of existing pattern and decorative detail in architecture and involves applying pattern to different places and contexts, resulting in site-specific installations and interventions. The patterns respond to the history, function, audience and location of the place they are designed for; a process that promotes pattern from being ‘merely’ decoration – an afterthought – to being the design or artwork itself – a carefully considered and crafted piece, specific to its situation and context.
Craig has a BA in Music and Visual Art from the University of Brighton and an MA in Surface Pattern from UCLan.
She presented work as part of the Open House event in June 2016.
